Yesterday we took a little drive to Braidwood to check on our camper that is getting repaired. After we stopped at EZ Living RV and found out that there were parts on order, we decided to get a bite to eat in town.
For several years now, we have attempted to try and eat at a local joint instead of a chain restaurant when traveling around. So while we were on our way to Braidwood, I looked up the places to eat around town. There were several options but we decided to try The Polk-a-Dot Drive-in on Route 66.
Pulling into the parking lot, we knew that it was going to be a neat place to eat. Drive ins are such a thing of the past so why not take advantage of the opportunity when it arises!
The nostalgia hits you when you walk in the door. It is a very retro 1950’s diner with all sorts of memorabilia for the decor!
I did not get a picture of the food but we both had the best Bacon Cheeseburgers we have ever had, very well proportioned and put together neatly. The next time we go, I will get pictures of the food because the food was really picture worth!
If you are ever in the Braidwood area or in the mood for a drive to a very neat and inexpensive place to eat, I highly suggest the Polk-a-Dot Drive In on Route 66!
